Here’s an inside view of an event we completed recently; I loved working with this fun, almost-preppy palette, for a corporate evening party at a gorgeous residence in Silverado, California.
Selecting the look for this party was so much fun. The client is a close friend, and has hired my firm for many events previously, so the design process was left in my hands! I’d recently visited the shop of my favorite new friend, Kim Stoegbauer, The TomKat Studio, in Arizona, and had picked up some charming marbled balloons in black, white and gold colors. Some of the designs were printed in modern calligraphy with the words “Party On” and “Cheers”. (SOLD! Take my money, please!) These accent pieces became the base inspiration for everything.
Selecting a linen for the main buffet table was next, I was torn between two black and white designs, a geometric pattern, or a wide black and white awning stripe. Decisions, decisions! Which would you have chosen? (see what I chose below!)
For the accent color, I chose a vibrant emerald green, and the floral designs came to life in white hydrangeas, peach and pink roses, and bright green foliage.
A 12 arm tabletop chandelier was lit with white taper candles, and provided a glow and ambience, as well as handmade gold striped votives, which were placed in groups of three, near the floral arrangements.
The square containers for the flowers were wrapped in ribbon to coordinate with the table linen. (By now you’ve probably figured out, I selected the stripes!) Large confetti sprinkles in shades of coral, hot pink, orange, gold and green were hand punched, and scattered liberally on surfaces throughout the event space.
Can we talk about this space for a moment? This residence is decadent, from the cathedral ceilings to the gorgeous granite in the kitchen; what a treat to party in this beautiful home. (I especially love this gorgeous custom wrought iron front door that enters to vaulted ceilings and pale ivory marble floors, what an entry!)
Pretty chalkboards were hand lettered for the occasion; one was placed just outside the front door to greet guests as they walked in, and one was stationed in the kitchen, and detailed the menu for the night. The beautiful gold paper flower accenting the menu board was created by none other than Tania Fischer, who is known in the event planning industry as the queen of paper flowers! Find a template or finished designs at www.taniafischerdesigns.com – she even takes custom orders!
Those balloons I mentioned earlier, (the ones that started the whole look), were inflated, along with others in green, black and gold. Clear balloons filled with hot pink tissue confetti were also made up, and provided the perfect pop against the other colors. These were spread liberally throughout the home. (Those marbled balloons, though!)
Of course, what’s a party without food? The menu was perfect for mingling, heavy appetizers were tray passed throughout the night to allow guests to relax and move throughout the space with ease. I created some labels for the food items in calligraphy, which added a really elegant touch. We love helping our clients select the perfect catering choices for their parties.
We loved creating this fun event. Until next time, remember to “Celebrate Everything!”
