Hosting a movie themed party? These adorable cupcakes look just like tubs of buttery fresh movie popcorn! They’re simple to make with ingredients you probably already have on hand!
What You’ll Need:
- 1 Boxed Cake Mix and required ingredients, or two dozen unfrosted store bought cupcakes
- 1 Can of store bought buttercream frosting, white
- 1 bag mini marshmallows
- Yellow food coloring
- Movie Cupcake Wrappers with Picks
Step 1: Bake cupcakes according to package instructions.
Step 2: While the cupcakes are baking, snip the mini marshmallows in two to three places, this will cause the marshmallow to split up and resemble a piece of popped popcorn.
Step 3: Mix the food coloring with a little bit of water, and use a small food safe brush to color the marshmallows, as shown.
Step 4: Frost the tops of the cupcakes with the white buttercream frosting, using a kitchen knife. You just need enough frosting to cover the tops.
Step 5: Press in the marshmallows to cover the tops of the cupcakes as shown.
Step 6: Place the cupcake in a printed wrapper and top with a decorative movie pick.
